We’ve all made mistakes when it comes to shaping and maintaining our brows. What are the most common mistakes and how can we avoid them? Let’s find out if you are guilty of any of these…
Mistake #1: One brow colour doesn’t fit all
Choosing your eyebrow shade isn’t as simple as ‘blonde or brunette’. To find out what eyebrow shade is right for you, you should opt for a shade that is one or two shades lighter than your hair colour. If you have lighter parts in your hair, match it to that colour for a more natural finish.
The perfect product to do this is the HD Brow Define Pencil, it comes in 6 shades so you can perfectly match it to any brows.
Mistake #2: Stop plucking in-front of a magnifying mirror
Magnifying mirrors are perfect for applying makeup or lashes, however, when it comes to brows they can be your worst enemy. Seeing your brows too close up will make you think the amount of hair you’re taking off is less than what you actually are. You should always keep the mirror at least half a metre away from your face and use as much natural light as you can.
Mistake #3: Tweezing at the wrong time
Tweezing can be an unpleasant experience. We recommend tweezing post-shower or bath. This will allow the steam to open your pores and naturally loosen your hair follicles. Making it easier to remove the hairs and reducing redness and irritation.
Mistake #4: Plucking your brows in oblivion
We are all guilty of grabbing the tweezers every time we see a hair out of place, but this can lead to overplucking. It is best to leave the brows for about 2 weeks between plucking, or longer depending on how fast your hair grows. This will decrease over plucking as you will have more to work with.
Need a new pair of tweezers? With its sleek, slimline black finish, HD Brows Precision Tweezers are a must for any brow perfectionist.
Mistake #5: Stop applying any kind of skincare products to your brows
You may not think it, but face creams and gels can be harmful to brows, they can halt growth or worst-case scenario, cause hair loss. Try to avoid applying any lotions or makeup to your brows unless they have been purposely designed for them.
If you’re on the look-out for a product to increase your brow density, then look no further than HD Brows Brow Maximiser.
Mistake #6: Say goodbye to heavy-handed brows
This is something we are all guilty of. At one stage dark, defined brows were considered on-trend, however, now it is all about natural, seamless brows. Instead of sharp lines, try and create natural hair strokes in line with your own hairs. As previously mentioned the HD Brows Define Pencil is perfect for creating this look. As well as the HD Brow Creme applied with the HD Angled Brow Brush will give you the same effect.
